Our spiritual journey doesn’t end in college but continues throughout our lives. We are called to remain faithful in learning and growing in our faith. None of us will ever have our faith figured out completely. We will experience times of deep connection with God and other times when we are walking in the valley of the shadow of death and through it all we will have trials that will bring out questions, doubts and times of wrestling in our faith and so we go back to the source of our knowledge about God, the scriptures, and seek a deeper understanding of who God is for our lives.

It is through Bible studies, book studies, small groups and other opportunities that we can continue to live out our calling to grow in Christian maturity. To this end we seek to have different opportunities for our adults to gather, learn and grow in their faith.

Alpha:
A 10 week course that explores the meaning of life in relationship to the Christian faith. We look at topics like: what is the meaning of life, who is Jesus, why did he die, why and how should I read the Bible, why and how do I pray, who is the Holy Spirit, how can I resist evil, why and how should I tell others about Christ, does God heal us today, and what about the church? This is a course open to everyone, especially geared to people interetsed in investigating the Christian faith, new comers to the church, new Christians, couples preparing for marriage and Christians who want to brush up on the basics.

Kent’s Class:
A weekly class in the fall, winter and spring which runs approximately 10 weeks for each session. Kent’s class offers an in depth look at the scriptures and what the scriptures mean for our faith as individuals. This class is a thought provoking look at the foundations of our faith. Kent teaches on Mondays at 9:30 to 11:30 AM and and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. He and Associate Pastor Amanda will be beginning a 30 week class in Jan 07 called Kerygma: The Bible in Depth. This study is a comprehensive look at the Bible, with each theme stating something about God and God’s people.

Explorer’s Group:
A group of active retirees and emptynesters who desire to have fellowship with each other while exploring the bay area.

Explorers Group

Small Groups:
Groups of individuals and couples that commit to meeting once a month to study a book in common. This is a great opportunity for people to go deeper in conversation with other Christians in a smaller setting. Most groups meet for dinner or a meal together and then spend time discussing their books and sharing in fellowship with one another. New groups are starting in January if you are interested call Amanda at the church.

Mingling Singles:
A lively group of single adults with a full schedule of events and activities. They meet Thursdays at 2 at Creekside Bakery every week and once a month for pizza at Round Table and other events like, movie nights, winery picnics and potlucks.

Presbyterian Women:
A national organization through the Presbtyerian Church USA. Our chapter meets once a month on the fourth Wednesday of every month for Bible Study, fellowship and mission work. This group is open to any and all women of the Presbyterian church.

Mom’s Group:
The Mom’s Group of the Presbyterian Church of Novato started in 2000 by mothers that desired friendship, fellowship and Christian bible study.  What started as a small group has served over 50 women over the years.  Who attends?  What can you expect?  The age of women that attend range from their 20’s to their 50’s.  Some have toddlers, some grown children, we even have a grandmother among us!  We do topical studies every six months, but strict “homework” is not required – we all have busy lives juggling this thing called motherhood with marriage, jobs, and community involvement.  The important component is Christian female companionship.  Meetings are every other Friday from 10 am- 11:30 am.  Call the church for the date of our next meeting.  All are welcome.

Men's Group:

This is a group open to all men of the congregation. They meet weekly on Wednesday mornings from 7:00-8:00am at the church. They discuss topics on faith, parenting, being a good spouse, the scriptures and how to live out their faith in everyday experiences. Come enjoy some coffee, donuts and good conversation. Call the church office for more details.

Bible Studies:
Great opportunities to explore the Bible in greater depth. We have some groups that are already formed but there is always a need for new groups to begin. If you are interested in going deeper into God's word in a smaller setting call the church to find out ways that you can start or join a Bible study.

Marian Stitchers:
A fellowship mission group that meets once a month on the first Wednesday of the month to knit, quilt, crochet and make other projects for local convalesent homes, hosptials and the VA; making blankets, prayer shawls and other items for people in need.
